The 2013 season kicked off with an intense 110 laps, with the top six drivers undecided until the final 100 yards. In the end, James Hinchcliffe took Helio Castroneves in Turn 1 on the Lap 85 restart and stayed for a 1.0982-second victory. Hinch became the first Canadian to win an Indy car race since Paul Tracy in 2007.
